January – offshore achievement awards
Safe Influx shortlisted for the SPE Offshore Achievement Awards 2020
Safe Influx has been shortlisted in the Emerging Technology category at the forthcoming SPE Offshore Achievement Awards (OAA).
The Emerging Technology Award recognises innovative technology ideas developed in the UK for the offshore energy sector, and Safe Influx is one of five companies to be nominated in the category.
Safe Influx was nominated for its unique Automated Well Control system, which improves safety and efficiency of the oil and gas industry by using automation to take the human factor element away from well control. Safe Influx has identified over 50 modules to cover all phases of well construction, and has a potential to enhance real-time decision-making in critical well control situations. Safe Influx technology would dramatically reduce the risks of blowouts, therefore save millions of pounds per well, reduce environmental impact and prevent loss of life.
Commenting on the award, Bryan Atchison, Managing Director at Safe Influx, said: “The risks of well control have been a challenge to the industry since drilling began. By far the greatest risk is that managing the human factor elements. Safe Influx Automated Well Control technology eliminates that risk and save lives.”
“It is wonderful that SPE recognises this significant contribution to the industry by nominating Safe Influx for the Offshore Achievement Award. Congratulations to all the finalists. We are looking forward to the awards ceremony in March”.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which will take place at P&J Live in Aberdeen on Thursday 19thMarch 2020.
